Quarterly Encouragement
A student’s calling often touches a parent’s heart in many ways—joy, hope, questions, and a longing to help them walk faithfully and safely into God’s next steps. Each quarter we’ll send a short email with a few conversation starters, one or two helpful links, and a word of encouragement as you walk with your student.
Resources
We want to support you as you walk with your student. Your ongoing conversation is one of the most meaningful gifts you can offer your student as they discern their calling.
Axis is a trusted ministry partner and has developed conversation guides that help you talk with your student about key topics like Hearing from God, Purpose, and Evangelism.
Axis also offers resources on many other topics, Parent Guides and helpful insight into current teen culture, Culture Translator.
PASTORS & LEADERS
Identify, develop, and commission the called in your church.
Your Role
Identify students who may be sensing a call and encourage them to take the next step (AY Called)
Surface trusted adults to walk the journey with each student
Open the door for students to explore their calling in ministry opportunities.
What a Strong Mentor Looks Like
A mature follower of Jesus who is consistent, trustworthy, willing to ask good questions and listen well, and help a student take small next steps. Often the best mentors aren’t the most talented, but the most steady.
Meeting monthly with a student
Helping the student connect to ministry opportunities

Models That Work
Model A: One student + one mentor (best for many churches)
A consistent adult walks with one student through AY Called, coordinates simple ministry reps, and checks in with a pastor/leader as needed.
Model B: Mentor pair + 2 to 5 students (small group)
Two adults shepherd a small group of students. This model builds community and helps spread the load. Includes Model A elements.
Model C: Connect to an existing cohort
If you don’t have mentors right now, we can help you connect your students with nearby churches in your region/district who do. No promises, but willing to work together.
